Kia Tasman’s Harman Kardon Sound System

Harman Kardon will supply the premium audio system for Kia’s first dedicated pickup, the Tasman, marking another step in the brand’s expansion into new vehicle segments.

Harman International Korea confirmed on the 25th that the Tasman will feature an eight-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with an external amplifier, designed to optimise audio clarity in various driving conditions. The system aims to leverage the Tasman’s cabin as an acoustic space to enhance depth and immersion.

The setup includes a dual voice-coil subwoofer intended to deliver strong, dynamic bass suited to the vehicle’s rugged character. A front two-way speaker system, along with a centre speaker housing a mid-tweeter, establishes a stable soundstage. Meanwhile, full-range speakers positioned in the rear doors provide balanced mid- and high-frequency output.

Additionally, the system features ‘Smart Speed Linked Volume Control,’ which automatically adjusts volume in response to changes in vehicle speed, ensuring consistent sound quality without manual intervention.

Harman International Korea has supplied audio systems to Hyundai and Kia since 2018. The Harman Kardon sound system is currently available in Kia models including the Sportage, Telluride, Niro, EV3, and now the Tasman.
