Kia Tasman Drift Edition

Designer Brian Kim has reimagined the Kia Tasman as a drift car, contrasting its utility and off-road purpose. Instead, this concept focuses on precision handling and controlled slides, offering a different perspective on what a truck can be.

A Different Approach to Truck Design

“The drift truck concept itself is quite niche,” Kim told the Korean Car Blog. “I wanted to go in the completely opposite direction from what you typically associate with trucks like off-roaders.”

Kim’s design draws inspiration from Australian car-based utes and high-performance builds like the Hoonigan projects and Toyota Tacoma drift setups, blending the structure of a truck with the characteristics of a drift car.

The rendering depicts a low, wide stance with aerodynamic modifications and a rear-wheel-drive layout. Drift-specific changes, such as a reinforced chassis, rear-weight bias, and an optimized suspension system, further emphasize handling over traditional truck capabilities.
