Kia has unveiled a concept version of its new Tasman ute, designed with off-road capability in mind. Shown at the Seoul Motor Show, the Tasman Weekender concept features a range of modifications aimed at enhancing its rugged appeal.
There are no confirmed plans for the Tasman Weekender to enter production. It follows the trend of previous off-road Kia concepts, such as the recently revealed PV5 electric van variant.
Kia has previously indicated interest in developing a high-performance Tasman to compete with models like the Ford Ranger Raptor and Nissan Navara Warrior. However, a V6 engine is unlikely due to upcoming emissions regulations.
One notable design feature of the concept is the use of body-coloured wheel-arch flares. While these are expected to appear on the production model, they will be narrower and less aggressive than those shown on the concept.
Other modifications include new wheels fitted with BFGoodrich all-terrain tyres, a revised bonnet, green accent details—including on the tow hooks—additional enclosed storage behind the cabin, and a roof rack equipped with mounted skis.
The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned, with the front grille modified in response to criticism of the standard model’s styling. Additional off-road enhancements include rock sliders, tie-down rails on the tray, and a beige-over-black exterior colour scheme.
Kia has not confirmed what powers the concept vehicle.
